Q. What are SRBL's design specialties?
A. Our work spans the many public buildings you'll find in any town; fire stations, police stations, village halls, public works facilities, libraries, aquatic centers, golf clubhouses and community centers.

Q. What benefits does your firm offer?
A. We offer our employees a tax deferred SIMPLE Plan with immediate vesting and employer match, health, life and disability insurance, generous vacation time which accumulates from the first day, and paid personal and sick time.

Q. Do you offer a mentoring program?
A. Yes. We work hard at giving our employees the chance to learn and grow, both in the office and out of the office. Our mentor program coincides with the NCARB Internship Development Program.

Q. What is the working atmosphere like?
A. SRBL's environment is contemporary, modest, and fun. Everyone takes his or her work to heart and projects are personal to those working on them. Everyone strives to be their best and understands that serving the client is of the utmost importance. Employees each pull their share and help others when needed. "Doing the right thing" has meaning to all employees. Mediocrity is not tolerated and effort is rewarded. There is a strong feeling of family and an atmosphere of continued learning and growth.

Q. How large is the firm?
A. We currently employee 17 full-time personnel including 5 licensed architects, 9 graduate architects, and 3 non-technical support staff in the areas of marketing, finance and administration. We also hire part-time employees as needed.

Q. What kind of computers do you use?
A. Our IT staff keeps an up-to-date network with all of the latest software and hardware providing for an efficient workspace. We buy the best computers on the market and turn over 1/3 of our computers every year.

Q. What software do you use for construction documents?
A. We are currently in the process of converting from Autodesk Architectural Desktop 2007 to Revit Architecture 2008. With 4 new projects starting in Revit, our staff is being trained in small groups to effectively use the software. Within a year, our goal is to have all projects produced in Revit.

Q. What are my continuing education opportunities?
A. The on-going education of all employees is highly encouraged and reimbursed on a performance scale. Principals suggest continuing education opportunities for staff and the employee is also encouraged to seek out areas where they would like to grow.

Q. What are the hours of operation?
A. SRBL offers flexible office hours starting between 7-9 am and ending between 4-6 pm.

Q. What is the dress code in the office?
A. Although SRBL is not an overly casual office, when working in the office, business casual dress is appropriate. For client meetings, professional attire is worn.

Q. What kind of drawings will I be working on?
A. There are many opportunities for an employee to work on all phases of architecture and all architectural sheets. SRBL grooms employees to be well rounded architects, to take charge of their assignments, and to continually grow.
