SRBL Defends Chair Hockey Championship in Sudden Death

DEERFIELD, IL, April 30, 2010 – In a dramatic “down-to-the-wire” decision, SRBL successfully defended its Chair Hockey Champion title in a sudden death match. “The competition was focused and fierce this year,” commented Carol Sente, president, SRBL Architects., “But our committed team knows what it takes to be a champion, so they dug deep.”

Hosted by Interior Investments, the 4th Annual Aeron Office Chair Hockey Tournament was held Thursday, March 4,2010 at Chicago’s Navy Pier. More than 600 chair hockey players and spectators from the Architectural, Interior Design, Construction and Commercial Real Estate communities went “chair-to-chair” in a floor hockey rink made from cubicle panels.

The real winners of this event are the Special Olympians of Illinois.  Funds raised from this event are earmarked for the Special Olympics Illinois State Floor Hockey Tournament held every November in Chicago.  To date, more than $60,000 has been generated through the Interior Investments Aeron Office Chair Hockey Tournament thanks to the generosity of the participating teams, spectators and a long list of sponsors including many furniture manufacturers, vendors and subcontractors.
