Orland FPD

Station #1 & Administration Expansion/Renovation

Cost of Construction:  $3,626,000

Size: 14,460 SF

Status: Completed June, 2011

Challenge/Goal: The Administration Facility was a separate building near Station #1. The District wanted to unify the facilities but had to keep Dispatch, located in the lower level of Administration, operational through construction

Solution: The design incorporated a new, distinct entrance that unifies and defines the space. Natural light is maximized with ample use of glass and operable windows. The expansion includes a new training/community room, a lobby that displays the District's history and mission, and new administration space. Careful planning allowed Dispatch to stay up and running throughout construction.
