Carol Stream Library

Renovation

Cost of Construction: $820,016
Status: Completed May 2010
Challenge/Goal: The library had outgrown its current facility. The existing lobby was oversized, dark, and underutilized.  The main goal of the project was to create a more inviting main entrance while generating additional usable space within the existing parameters of the building.
Solution: The underutilized existing lobby has been transformed into the Circulation Desk. Patrons now enter the building through a more prominent, naturally lit entrance. The main library space now accommodates more computers and seating for patrons.
