Challenge/Goal: The City of Crystal Lake desired to develop a 200+ acre site which was previously a quarry. The new plan includes a beach, hiking paths, fishing, boat rentals, and multiple picnic pavilions.    
Solution: SRBL’s design incorporated three separate heavy timber buildings to accommodate the site's multiple amenities. The Gate House will house the attendant greeting entering visitors. The Lake House is at the heart of the site and is complete with locker rooms, management offices, and a fully functional kitchen. The Boat House, on the water’s edge, provides space for all rental and boating services.
