Size: 37,994 SF

Status: Completed May 2001

Challenge/Goal: Gurnee Public Works Department had long outgrown its aging, metal-clad shop building it had operated for over thirty years.  The Village wanted to design a new facility on a tight budget and still accommodate for future expansion. The new Public Works Department required space for administrative offices, staff, working shops, vehicle storage and maintenance.

Solution: Utilizing the existing site, SRBL developed a cost-effective design that provided state-of-the-art spaces while keeping the department fully operational during construction.  The new Public Works facility provides administrative space for future expansion for vehicle storage and shop space.
