Round Lake

Police & Public Works Complex

Cost of Construction: $5,790,219

Size:  35,525 SF

Status: Completed October 2005

Challenge/Goal:  The Public Works Department was operating out of a rented building that had long passed its useful life span while the Police Department had outgrown its portion of the combined Village Hall and Police Department Facility. The Village challenged SRBL to design a consolidated Police and Public Works facility that created operational efficiency and optimized workflow between the departments.

Solution:  The design of the new Police and Public Works complex combined common spaces such as the entrance lobby, lunch, and meeting rooms to create an efficient floor plan.  The balance of the floor plan achieves the operational needs of the individual departments while taking advantage of shared utilities.
