Challenge/Goal: City officials wanted a station that would unite the City campus, yet possess a unique identity for the department. They desired a station that was inviting to the community and provided an efficient work environment for staff.
Solution: The design of this one-story police facility with a full basement includes a dispatch communications center, firing range, and two-car sally port. The building is significantly “hardened” to protect the officers and staff, but concealed in a way that is not sterile to the public, thus balancing the City’s security concerns with openness to the public. This was SRBL’s first project to be completely designed using Revit software, which benefits clients with speed, accuracy, and infinite viewing angles.
