Jack A. Claes Pavilion Community Center

Cost of Construction: $10,057,500

Size:  125,361 SF New, 8,816 SF Remodeled

Status:Completed August 1994

Challenge/Goal:  The Park District decided to plan for and design a new community center on their existing site. The concept of a “Town Center” was of prime importance during the design.

Solution:  As the winner of a design competition, SRBL was chosen because of the demonstrated attention to detail and efficient spatial relationships. The project began by analyzing the existing site for optimal placement of a large recreation center, parking, landscaping, retention pond, and gazebo. The project’s focal point is an ornate 28 foot carousel which is part of the children’s party wing.
